Tianjin O.K. Bicycle Co., Ltd Donated 100 High-Class Bicycles to Member Schools
On January 11, 2006, Tianjin O.K. Bicycle Co., Ltd through the platform of Care for the West donated to the member schools 100 bicycles valued 40,000 RMB. The bicycles have been transported to Ningxia, Qinghai and Beijing.
The member schools receiving the donation are Qinghai Huangzhong County Dacai Middle School, Huanyuan County No.3 Middle School, Ningxia Zhangyi Middle School, Tozha Middle School and Beijing Shunyi Beishicao Middle School. These schools have made better use of the platform Care for the West and received donator's recognition for their extraordinary public benefit plans. The students of the schools will take part in public benefit activities with these bicycles and the students are expected to be beneficial from the activities. Meanwhile, the schools will plant 20 saplings in response to the Plan of Planting Trees and Nurturing Students.
Taiwan Affair Office Ningxia will hold a donation ceremony to extend gratitude to the donating company and give the member schools encouragement. Taiwan Affair Office Qinghai expresses that they will send the bicycles to the member schools by themselves.
The platform of 'Care for the West', a free electronic public-benefit platform sponsored by Town and Talent Technologies (China) Co., LTD, intended to carry out the good deeds from the whole society for impoverished areas in a more open, transparent and effective way. Besides this activity, Nan Kai International Management Forum, Taiwan Hualian Growth Center, Living Knowledge Communities have carried out their projects of caring for the west through the platform and achieved great success, including TV contests, training for more than 20 times, training from foreign experts for more than10 times, more than 500 persons from all walks of life communicating with the schools in the west and providing more than financial aid of 200,000 RMB to 51 member schools. After this event, it is expected that there will be more persons to do good deeds through the platform.
With the principle of 'Benefiting for Others', 'Care for the West' not only encourages benefactors to offer their care, but also to participate in the public welfare activities like planting trees, taking care of lonely elders, promoting protection of environment in those places, which are beneficial for forming local students' perseverance. All the sponsors and schools consented to the act. It is expected that there will be more people participate in this platform.
