Money for Traveling Allocated in Promoting Activity for Talents Mobilization from West to East

Gulang was covered with white and looks beautiful after last night’s heavy snow. In the chilly morning, parents with relaxing mood came to the meeting room of Yellow Sheep River Vocational Secondary School, watching promoting programs of West Talents for the East while waiting for the employees of Town and Talent Gulang Digital Center.

To have a good beginning in 2006, after Chinese New Year, Gulang Digital Center and Yellow Sheep River Vocational Secondary School organized this promoting activity on Feb.8, 2006. In the activity, traveling money for employees working for Chengda Corporation was to be allocated. The employees would go to work in Chengda very soon. ??

The meeting, in fervent atmosphere, was moderated by Hu Wanlong, a teacher of Yellow Sheep River Vocational Secondary School. As the director of West Talents for the East Yellow Sheep River Branch, he summarized the progress of the project and the employees’ work and lives in Chengda. When he talked about that some sent 300-500yuan each month to their families, many parents responded positively. Dou Jiayin’s mother said her daughter had sent 5,000yuan since last year, and Zhang Jianfen’s father said the same thing. The rough amount of the remittance by the people working in Chengda of last year was more than 1million yuan.

Then, Gao, Manager of Gulang Digital Center, on behalf of Lin, CEO of Town and Talent, said happy new year to the parents and extended gratitude to them for their support and to those who worked in Chengda and could not come home for reunion during new year vacation. Gao told the parents not to be worried as Chengda arranged good new year meal and colorful spare-time activities. And the Center received many calls from the children saying Happy New Year. Gao said she felt very pleased that they had so many friends who support their work. She also encouraged the parents to promote the project so that more people could work outside and have the opportunity to have better lives.

After taking the traveling money, the parents said they would like to advertise for the project with brochures.

After the meeting, Gao and Hu went to Hengliang village that was 20 kilometers away from Yellow Sheep River Town. Heliang located in a valley and the weather there was very cold. It was a typical poor place where people’s living depends on climate. Everything was so white on their way that they could not distinguish between the mountains and land. They drove carefully and it took them 40 minutes to travel 20 kilometers. When arriving, they saw a lot of people waiting for them, including the leaders of the village. ??

In the snapping sound of the firecrackers, parents in Hengliang presented the banners embroidered with grateful words and began the opening ceremony for Gulang Digital Center Hengliang Branch.

In 2005, Li Jiangxing played the role of volunteer linker person for West Talents for the East in order to extend his gratitude for Mr.Lin, CEO of Town and Talent, who provided aid for her daughter’s disease treatment. He advertised West Talents for the East in Hengliang, Daduntan, Peijiaying, etc and paid for traveling and telephone with his own money. Under his promotion, more than 100 people went to work in other places and most of them are working in Chengda and performing very well. Thus, Gulang Digital Center authorized him to set up the branch. Hengliang Village Committee gave him lots of support and allocated a room as his office.

Finally, representative of the parents delivered a speech: ‘On behalf of more than 40 parents, I extend gratitude for the warmth, care and hopes you bring to us. It is you who make this chilly and remote mountain village become vibrant. It is you give our children opportunities to work in better places, broaden their mind and learn working skills. West Talents for the East plays an important role in employment as well as promoting local economy. We have benefited a lot from the project. At same time, we hope our children will become talents contributing to both the society and their hometown.'
