Foundation of the dorm laid and the bicycles donation held in Dacai Middle School

On March 10, foundation of the dorm named Xin(confidence and honesty), Wang(hope) and Ai(caritas) was laid as the bicycles donation was held in Qinghai Dacai Middle School. Dai Han, chief of Taiwan Affairs Office Qinghai Branch, Cai Jianqing director of Economy Section and the officials from Dacai village attended the ceremonies.

Dai Han said during the ceremony that Xin meant that the students should be confident and honest; Wang was that the students should have hope in their mind for better future and Ai was the grateful feeling and caritas. He hoped the students make contribution to the society as much as they could, study hard and value the current good learning condition as return to those people offering help.

The headmaster of Dacai Middle School, on behalf of all the teachers and students, extended gratitude to local villagers’ support, care and help from Town and Talent Technologies Co., ltd, Taiwan Hualian Growth Center, Tianjin OK Bicycle Parts Co., ltd and the officials from Taiwan Affairs Office. Since this year Dacai Middle School has actively participated in the projects of Town and Talent.

In November 2005, Town and Talent began to organize the member schools to participate in the International Cyber Fair. Altogether 16 member schools enrolled in the activity. After several months’ preparation, Qinghai Dacai Middle School, Qinghai Qinglin Township Tu Nationality Center School, Ningxia Taole No.1 Middle School, Ningxia Touzha Middle School and Sichuan Tongjiang Experiment Middle School are eligible for the contest. It is the first time that schools from China mainland take part in the event, which is very significant.

In August 2005, Madam Xiao from Taiwan Hualian Growth Center visited Dacai Middle School. During the visit, Xiao learned that some students living far from the school had to be dropped out because there was no dorm. She then decided to raise money for building a dorm. The 122,549 yuan has been in position. In addition, Huangzhoung County Educational Department has managed to provide 20,000 yuan for helping build the dorm.

Dacai Middle School has participated in the plan of Planting Trees and Nurturing Students and been donated 20 bicycles by Tianjin OK Bicycle Parts Co., ltd. The school has made a complete scheme concerning the plan including planting trees, visiting lonely senior people and persuading students quitting school to return school. After these activities, the students who received aid have learned how to help others, involve in public welfare and return the society’s help.
