Taiwan Hualian Growth Center donated 120,000
yuan for building dormitory for Qinghai Dacai Middle School
In August 2005, Mrs. Xiao and Mr. Tang, principal of Taiwan Hualian
Growth Center visited 3 member schools of Town and Talent Corporation.
They learned the story about a student named Bao Yulin from the teachers
when they were in Dacai Middle School. And they were also told that some
students living far from school had to be dropped out because the school
had no dormitory.
After getting back to Taiwan, Xiao and other leaders of Hualian Growth
Center had a discussion and decided to aid Bao Yulin so that he could
carry on study. Town and Talent Corporation was authorized to be responsible
for the operation. However, these warmhearted people have always been
upset for the school’s problem of having no dorm.
Later, Mr. Tang contacted Town and Talent and got to know the expenses
of constructing the dorm. By the end of 2005, Hualian Growth Center passed
the project of raising money for building the dorm. The Center totally
collected 122,549 yuan. One morning, an old woman cooking for others presented
10,000 Taiwan New Dollars to Xiao. She said to Xiao in misty eyes that
her family was impoverished and could not support her schooling, she was
sad when hearing of many children dropped out and the money was just a
slender contribution. Much of the money was donated out of the same purpose
and feeling.
The 122,549 yuan has been remitted to Dacai Middle School. On March 10,
foundation of the dorm named Xin(confidence and honesty), Wang(hope) and
Ai(caritas) was laid in Qinghai Dacai Middle School. Dai Han, chief of
Taiwan Affairs Office Qinghai Branch said during the ceremony that Xin
meant that the students should be confident and honest; Wang was that
the students should have hope in their mind for better future and Ai was
the grateful feeling and caritas. He hoped the students make contribution
to the society as much as they could, study hard and value the current
good learning condition as return to those people offering help. On April
14, Wang Fake, an architect from the supervising company checked the groundwork
and announced it met the constructing demands.
