Springtime sale of work finished

From April 20 to 23, the springtime sale of work with the theme of love, voluntariness and public welfare, was held in the exhibiting hall of Tianjin TEDA Library. Ni Xiangyu, the deputy chief of TEDA (Tianjin Economic Development Area) Management Committee, Li Donghui, chairman of TEDA Literature Association, Meng Fanping, director of Social Development Department, Ding Lei, deputy director of Propaganda Department of TEDA Working Committee and many artists participating in the donation attend the opening ceremony. The activity was hold by TEDA Volunteers Association, Nankai International Management Forum, TEDA Social Development Department, TEDA Senior Citizen Association and Town and Talent Technologies (China) Co., Ltd.

The traditional Chinese paintings from famous painter Li Donghui, works of well-known carver Sun Jiatan, painter Gao Jinglin and printmaker Liu Shuohai, teapot, brush pot and seal from ceramist Sun Dingpo, photos taken by Dr. Lin from Town and Talent, Tangka (a kind of sacred painting on cloth) made by students from Qinghai Huangzhong Vocational Secondary School and other artistic works were exhibited. The sale of work lasted for four days and the exhibited works were valued more than 600,000yuan.

Supported by many benefactors, 23 pieces of Tangka made by the member school of Town and Talent Qinghai Huangzhong Vocational Secondary School were sold. Mr. Yang, headmaster of the school extended gratitude to Town and Talent for giving them the chance that made their school known by more people and strengthened the students’ confidence.
The sale of work has raise 160,000yuan which will be used in the project of Gift for Life, helping poor students complete their study and other charity and public welfare projects.

The project of Gift for Life is initiated by TEDA International Cardiovascular Hospital and Fulun Society one international charity organization. The project aims at providing treatment to the children from impoverished families suffering from congenital heart disease under the help from social aid. The children eligible for the project must be under 14, suffering from Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), Ventricular septal defects or Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA) with no syndrome. In addition, the sick children’s families shall provide the proof of poverty from local government.
