Taiwan Baohua Media Takes Views for Film in Yellow Sheep River
In this April, a film producing squad led by Liu Song, director from Baohua Media took views in Yellow Sheep River. At that time, the spring plough was just over and the wheat seedlings were very green. In 2004, Liu finished one documentary about Mr. Sayling Wen and it was well recognized. They came to Yellow Sheep River again for a new film.
In June, they came to Yellow Sheep River for second time in this year. The villagers were very curious about the heavy camera, because they couldn’t figure out the film was from these stuff. In every village, the squad was welcomed by the villagers. Liu was such an easygoing person that he got along well with the villagers who would tell him their stories.
It has been 56 days without rain before the squad’s arrival. The farmland looked a little bit yellow. All the people were eager for the rain. The old men sat under the shade blankly and glared at the grey sky. The sunshine was so strong that the women were afraid to work in the farmland. The children who lost the vigor snoozed in the shade.
Suddenly, a van appeared. The adults and children all raised their heads and stared at people getting off it because they were wondering who dared to walk under the burning sunlight.
The villagers talked with them about the big events or trivial things in daily life. The squad collected nearly everything they needed to learn. An old woman told them her son left her forever five years ago because of disease he suffered when working out of hometown. His wife remarried soon after his death. She and her husband over 70 lived with their 3 years old grandson. All the people felt so sad after hearing about this that they dropped tears. They spent the days on sharing the villagers’ stories.
