From Sep 17 to 19, 2006, 6 representatives, on behalf of Xiemei Aixin Student Education Fund（XASEF）, visited two TTTmember schools, including Longtan Middle School in Gansu and Huangzhong Vocational Middle School in Qinghai.

In Longtan Middle School, representatives held a conversation with two XASEF-donated students: Xu Fu-ping and Mo Yan-hong, to learn their study and living situation in detail. They encouraged them to work hard and offered them 350 yuan as scholarship for each one. With accompany of local school teachers, they interacted with students in Class Three Grade Nine. After a brief self-introduction, the representatives began to answer students’ question about XASEF activities, life in Singapore and etc. During their conversation, they got to learn that the condition of students’ dormitory was very limited, part of students even slept on desk at night. And then, XASEF offered 6 beds to students’ dormitory, which cost 1800 yuan. Leaving school, they went to a student’ family to learn local living situation.

In Huangzhong Vocational Middle School, the principal, Mr. Wang firstly introduced the development of their school and expressed thanks to help from XASEF. And then, the representatives of XASEF held a conversation with beneficiary students, to encourage them work hard in the school. The teachers were impressed by representatives’ love care.

XASEF is a non-government organization, initiated by Ms. Chen, who is a Singapore Chinese. “Xiemei” was her mother’s name. XASEF, registered as a part of TTT’s Care West Project, aims at advocating foreign Chinese to pay attention to students’ education in western China. XASEF always applies “charity deeds leading to business opportunity” to bring long-term benefits to impoverished areas. With the help of TTT’s Care West e-charity Platform, XASEF hopes to communicate with donors from all walks of society in a justified, direct and transparent way.
