How Many Enterprises Would Like to Be the Benefactors?
I have many feelings after spending two days reading carefully two books written by Sayling Wen: Completing Western Development in Ten Years and Farewell Impoverishment. If a person or an enterprise can give as much care for others as for themselves, the person must be gracious and the enterprise can exist for longer time. In current market, a lot of companies only pay attention to profits, eager for quick success. The result is they disappear after several-years seeming magnificence. The main reason is the leaders don’t have a philanthropic mind and the company has no culture accumulation. In some people’s mind business men are callous driven by profits and intellectual people are not able to make money. But Mr. Sayling Wen is no doubt an intellectual business man having Chinese traditional ethic. The project of Town and Talent is not philanthropy but is oriented for profit. But not every one of the enterprises in
Gansu, even in
China and those rich people can think of doing such good deed and dare to do so. ‘If the beautiful dream doesn’t come true, I’d like to be buried in the western grassland.’ This is the difference between the wise man or a warrior and we ordinary people.
Mr. Wen said ‘Shaking off poverty brings about the most potential market.’ Even a business man from
Taiwan can see the hopes hiding in impoverishment, we living in
Gansu should definitely do something, shouldn't we?
