Jingmi Channel is the main water supply to capital-Beijing.
It flows across the territory dividing naturally Changping
District, Haidian District, Shunyi County, Huairou County
and Miyun County into mountainous area and semi-mountainous
area and agricultural area. The total length is 110km.
The first project of Jingmi Channel began at 1960, while
the second project at 1966. Since 1961, Jingmi Channel
offer 0.33billion
water to Beijing. In 1985, Jingmi was ranked
the first water protection area. There are more than
430 facilities on the channel. In recent years, the
pollution threatens the water quality in Jingmi Channel.
