Gratitude – interviewing teacher MA Shijiang
Q: how do you feel after you get to know the EDEN volunteers?
A:first, they respect their job-
teaching. From the very beginning
to the very end, EDEN volunteers abide strictly by
the schedule of our school – they teach, get water,
and eat on time: because the natural and living
environment are very
different from where they come from, volunteers work
very hard while fighting against altitude stress,
strong ultraviolet radiation, and lack of water.
Some volunteer insisted working even they didn’t
feel well; they took all the time they could to
accompany kids in the class time; they held meeting
to discuss the
courses and prepared for the next day after all the
kids fell asleep. Everyday they worked until late
night.
Second, they did their best in every aspect. They
adjust their courses according to the reality of our
school and our students; they made teaching tools by
themselves; they communicated with Zi Qiang Society
from Nankai University,
teachers and students from Northwest Normal
University, and teachers in our school to ask for
suggestions; they never swore and kept civilized
habits; they collected abandoned trash to burn or to
take away; they cleaned their offices and
dormitories before every group left.
Third, they followed team discipline and the
leader’s instruction. |
