      Wang Hongxi , an original ,simple and honest farmer painter in Pingluo , Ningxia , cultivated his farmlands day by day and took painting brushes to draw based on the subject of farmers’ life , such as the lively and vigorous view in rural areas in his free time . Local people called him Painter Wang intimately .

        Wang Hongxi dropped from school to do farmland works after graduating from junior school in 1973 which was a turbulant age . Since he did not have access to school , he leant farmland works while learning to be a decorator . One day , he was inspired by the news that a Shanxi farmer painting was exhibited in Beijing Art Gallery broadcast on radion and he has decided to learn paingting ever since . He did his field work in daytime and drew pictures about his work , life or joy of harvests at nights . In 1983 , he signed up for a farmer painting class orgnized by Pingluo cultural exhibitin center and learnt crazily . After ending of this class , guided by his teacher , he created a painting called chicken farmer which was introduced to Beijing by Autonomous Region Cultural Department and was exihibited in National Art Gallery . He was so exicited as he could show his work in National Art Gallery as an original simple farmer form a farmer family .This is more incredible than a dream for him , since then , he loved farmer painting more encouraged by this exhibition . As a farmer , Wang Haongxi totally know them and he show his love for them by drawing them with an original , pure and exaggerated manifestation means .

         With good profits from his works , Wang Hongxi also fostered many farmer painting talents for Pingluo Town . An Zihua , a farmer in Xinsheng Village in Lingsha Town , who loved painting , joined the team of farmer painters with the help of Wang Hongxi . He has had his 5 works won in farmer painting contests orgnized by Town or City . Meanwhile , Wang Hongxi encouraged Yang Xiaomei , a female farmer in Xingfu Village in Gaozhuang Town , to carry forward her paper cutting craft .

       Foe these years , whatever winds and rains , he did not stop painting , meanwhile ,he went to every corner in 8 villages in Town to develop more than 50 farmer painters .

       Inpired by the enriched life of farmers attributed to farmer paintings , the Town has held three individual painting exhibition and seven farmer painting exhibitions , attracting more and more visitors as farmers felt both fresh and intimate because working shadows of them and their wishes and pursuit for a better life were all expressed in those paintings .
