1.What information tools & technologies did you used to complete your Doors to Diplomacy project?
When the project is being completed, we collected pictures with the computer, digital camera, digital video, mobile hard disk helped us copying data, we contacted with all the students with mobile phone to go out for an interview at weekend. We made use of Dreamweaver 8, fireworks 8, ACDsee, 5, flash, word, Internet Explorer in Cyberfire.
2.In what ways did you act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your Doors to Diplomacy project both on-line and in person.
From deciding subject to the completion of the production, we visited the immigration village and Hong Xiang Village, Taole happiness Park and Tara pension service center, in Hong Xiang Village, we interviewed elderly, middle-aged man who worked here, women who took care of children at home, children who lived here, teacher in kindergarten, staff in the village committee, in Taole happiness park, we interviewed elderly and staff, we told our special plan to them, at the same time, we also welcomed their immigration, only to walk out from the poor mountainous area, the elderly can live in comfort in their old age, the family will rich, the children will have a good education.
3.What has been the impact of your project on your community?
After we carried out this project, through communicating with us, many people knew the hardships of the immigrants, we understood that it was not distant things on TV, but the real things that happen to us, we have more understanding of their situation, students no longer have a prejudice with them, and learn together, many people also have no discrimination with them...More and more people know their lives, I believe that immigrants must be happy in the strange land!
4.How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?
The usual course is quite heavy, we don't have much time to go out for an interview, so we have little knowledge of immigrants, when students knew the situation, actively introduced the relocation of their home to us before, living environment now, some of the students invite us into their village to do the interview, and he is to be our guide, so we have the successful Hong Xiang Village tour. In Taole happiness Park, young sister Li took us to visit the service center, so that we can get more information. With their help, our interview, data collection can be successfully completed. 5.Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises
In the process of making the website, we found that not only frontpage can do webpage, but also there is so exquisite software Dreamweaver can be used, or there are many kinds of software we never heard! In concentric public kindergarten, we act as children to listen to the "teacher" to teach us. It was so late when we went home from the immigration village that we almost walked back for more than 20 km. Through this activity, we realized that we had prejudice to immigrant children was wrong, we must help them adapting this place, and learning together!
