　　Besides many beautiful sites around the lake,there are also many stories in the Tianhu Lake.One of the legends says,in the Ming and Qing Dynasties,there is a place named Shaquanyi,an ancient post.A soldier in the post is called Chen Mazi because he has dots in the face.One day in the dry year,he is herding the horses.But there is no water for drinking.Suddenly one of the horses is digging with its hoofs.Chen Mazi goes over and finds the hole the horse has dug.In the hole there is water seeping.He immediately digs the hole one metre deep.A spring appears and the water is clear and good for drinking.There Chen Mazi spring is well-known ever since.Apart from this ,there are many other stories about it.
