Shehuo,Yangge, a kind of folk dance, is a special form of expressing and yearning for happiness popular in rural area, especially on spring festival. Nearly every village in Datong County has their Yangge troupe. The director of the troupe is responsible for selecting dancers, rehearsal and coordination. After the 4th day of the first month of lunar year, the troupes begin the circuit performance. The 16th day of the first month of lunar year is the last day of Yangge performance, because the new farming time is coming. The performance of that day is the grandest and most colorful one, full of positive and hopeful attitude.
