Anser indicus Latham
This kind of bird is well-known for two black bend lines on its neck. Its weight is between 2.5-3.1kg. Male is a little bigger than female. Every year, more than 120,000 Anser indicus Lathams live on avian Islands. Some live on Sankuaishi and Haixin Hill. In winter, they live in swamp of Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, India and Bengal Gulf. In Feb and Mar, they together fly to north. At the end of Mar and beginning of Apr, they arrive at Qinghai Lake. In the middle of Apr,they begin to lay eggs, one to three per day. The average number of eggs in one nest is four to eight, while the largest is twelve. The average weight of egg is 143g. The hatch period is 29 days. In Jul and early Aug, the baby birds began to renew their feather. At the end of Aug, young birds can fly. From the end of Sep, they begin to fly to south place. At the beginning of Nov, they reach their destination.

Larus brunnicephalus
Larus brunnicephalus is one of the main migrant on avian Island. More than 14,000 live there. Their weight is 360-400g. The feather on head and neck is brown; other part of body is white and light gray. In Mar, they came to this island. In middle of May, they begin to lay eggs. The average number of eggs in one nest is three to four. The weight of egg is about 45g. The hatch period is 25 days. When baby birds are mature, they begin to fly with their parents. This kind of birds has strong conception to protect its colony. If someone enters their territory, they will circle, swoop, and squeal until he leaves that place. In Sep and Oct, they began to fly to south places, including Yunnan, Guangzhou, Nansha Island and Xisha Isle.

Larus ichthyaetus
Larus ichthyaetus has black feather on its neck and white crescent spot below its eyes. The main body is gray, other parts are white. The weight is 500-600g. The main inhabitants are Sankuaishi, estuary of Buha River, and Sha Island. The amount of these birds is 120,000. In middle of Mar, they migrate to Qinghai Lake. In middle of May, they begin to lay eggs, three to five each nest. The average weight of egg is 126g. The hatch period is 28-30 days. In Sep, they migrate to south place. The furthest country is India. |

Common Cormorant
Common Cormorant is one of the main migrant
on avian Island. They mainly live on Sankuaishi
and cliff of Haixi Hill. The amount is 5000.
At the end of Mar, they migrate to Qinghai
Lake, three to four eggs each nest. The
average weight of egg is 54g. The hatch
period is 30-31 days. It can dive into water
three to four meter below the surface and
catch fish which is two times than itself.
In winter, they live in Yunnan Province,
Guizhou Province and the border of Burma
and China.
