The most impressive part in this activity for us is the interview of Principal Qing. As a principal, he did not an air of importance as "being a principal" that we had expected. On the contrary, at first, he gave full affirmation to us for participating in this activity, and then encouraged us to participate in more activities like this, from which we attained more knowledge. We learned from other teachers that before Mr. Qing took over as the principal of our school, he had worked in middle schools located in other villages and towns. After being the principal of our school, he devotes himself to secondary vocational education, the "marginal" land. For a long time, there has been an idea in society that students graduating from vocational middle schools could only become workers and they are not as good as students from ordinary senior secondary schools. Even we students, when walking in the street and talking to our friends and relatives, we are ashamed to admit that we are the vocational middle school students. While, the Principal does not think so: "there is no distinction among people, and there is no difference in learning levels, it is a really long journey of life, the vocational middle school students also need a way out. |

Our county is the state-level poor county, most of the students of our school are from the mountain areas, whose parents work at other cities for a long time, and generally, these students could only get together with their parents temporarily in summer and winter vacations. Without presence of parents' love, with no one to care about their study and other people's "discrimination", all of which make most of them lose confidence. Most of the vocational schools students just had held the idea to be dronish in two years' study, get diploma and then go out to find a job, let alone to mention "I have a dream of university". The headmaster told us in his childhood, he had to walk a long mountain road to school, every morning he got up before dawn, and when he returned home from school afternoon, he helped his parents to do some housework, take care of younger siblings, and finished his homework in the evening with the light of kerosene lamp. This kind of situation, we never experienced and we could not even imagine, can't even imagine. But he never gave up studying, because he knew that only studying was the only way to change his destiny. Today, the headmaster has firmer conviction "studying may not necessarily be the fastest way, but must be effective." We remember when we first entered the school, the headmaster told us, now the state had begun to attach great importance to vocational education, and it was the good opportunity for us. We still could remember clearly that very moment, the headmaster's earnest eyes and simple words encouraged us to study hard. The students in our school came out on top several times in the national university entrance examinations for vocational schools in Guangyuan city, numerous graduates realized "university dream" with their own hard working. The headmaster proves to us with fact: as long as you work hard, even you are the students of vocational middle school, you can also entered the university and we are not inferior to the students from ordinary senior middle schools. We benefit a lot from the talking with the head master and we have confidence in China's future vocational education. We are going to learn the spirit of the head master "love and respect his job", as a student, we must study well, paving the road to success with our sweat. |
