How did your activities and research for this International Schools Cyber Fair project support content standards, required coursework and curriculum requirements?
Mr. Wen Sayling was a famous businessman in Taiwan, who had deep feeling with western region in China. Yellow Sheep River (YSR) is a small mountain village in remote western areas. Sayling considered setting YSR as a shining model for agricultural society using internet to develop knowledge-based economy, triggering a direct leap into information society. Furthermore, decided to carry out a plan called “Town and Talent”, to copy 1000 “Yellow Sheep River” in national wide. However, Sayling died of apoplexy in Taiwan in Dec of 2003. Mr. Wen left a unique and indelible mark in the changing world of high-technology and human civilization. All the team members have witness the changes of their hometown in recent years. They want to introduce Sayling’s contribution to more people and thus give implication to undeveloped areas.

In what ways did your students act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your International Schools CyberFair project both on-line and in person?
In our research, more people get to know Wen Sayling and his Town and Talent Project. According by doing research and interview, we get a better understanding of the changes of our hometown and the sense of Internet. Sayling had set a good example for us. We also realize that the arrival of internet succeeds in bridging all gaps between YSR and outside world. For the first time, villagers in YSR harbor hopes and dreams. Since Town and Talent Technologies have worked with the remote town, we have installed IT school computer classrooms. This launched the first opportunity for villagers to create our own website, the first time that villager computer training courses were held, and the first instances of e-business. The internet opens a window to the rest of the world, allowing YSR to both learn about and enter into the outside world.

What has been or will be the impact of your project on your community?
Through this research project, we have come to know more about Mr. Sayling Wen. We are fully confident that our work, when finished, would be the most exhaustive online resource about him at the moment. In the process of research, we have felt the public's concern about the future development of western region. We hope that our project would not only deepen the public's knowledge, but also arouse their interest to western development. Through this project, we have established good interaction with the villagers and schoolmates. All the students have a better understanding of Sayling’s project after watching our website.

How did your project involve other members of your community as helpers and volunteers?
In what ways did your students act as "ambassadors" and spokespersons for your International Schools Cyber Fair project both on-line and in person?
Though Wen Sayling is quite famous in our hometown, we find it difficult to search relevant information. By communicating with Town and Talent staff on the net, we are offered many precious photos. Besides, Sayling’s friends gave us a lot of good suggestions and taught us useful computer skills. Thanks to their help.

Discoveries, Lessons and Surprises
In this activity, we get to know the importance of internet. It’s so convenient to search information on the net. We have learnt a lot about communication with others. Although the process of research is harsh, we know that there is no harvest without sowing. The sweet fruit comes only with hard work. We have also gained the valuable experiences of interacting with others; this ability will be a long-life benefit for us. By working together on the project, we have a fresh knowledge about ourselves. We not only see the merits of others, but also realize the strength of ourselves. With a common goal, we learn to "respect, communicate, be considerate and understanding", and we come to understand the meaning of "humility, contribution, agreeableness and gratefulness."
