Good friend - Datong
Datong is a member of the second group. Her hair is
short and she always wears a blue hat. I first met
her at an experiment class. She introduced herself
at first, “my name is Datong, you can call me
teacher Datong.” And then she gave us a big sweet
smile. Later, in the process of experiment, while we
went out to
do experiment with the other teacher group by group,
other
students stayed in the classroom waiting. She then
taught students in the classroom to play some games
and whoever lost the game should be “punished”. I
accidently made a mistake in the game while I was
laughing at another student’s mistake. I wanted to
escape the “punishment”, however,
teacher Datong walked towards me and asked my name.
I told her my name and she asked me to sing a song
as the “punishment”. After I sang, she said to me
that “Yuhong, do you want to be a star when you grow
up, because your voice is beautiful”. This was how I
met Datong.
Later, I met teacher Datong in the model class. She taught us
to make paper planes. She named her paper plane
“Datong”. I learned from her. Though my plan wasn’t
the prettiest, my plane flied the highest in the
sport field.
I can’t forget her guilelessness and her
carefree smile. And her beautiful eyes seem always
waiting for something. She wasn’t our class
instructor. But I cried the night before her
leaving. I avoided meeting her and asked teacher
Minfang to gave her my gift instead. I saw her again
in the morning when I went home from the school. She
gave m a card. I controlled my tears because I
didn’t want her to see it. When she was saying
goodbye to everyone, I didn’t come close to her. She
found out and called me to come closer, however, I
didn’t go because I was afraid of her tears.
The second morning, I went to the street right after
I heard the horns. She waved her hands inside of the
car and I saw her red eyes with tears. Watching car
going away, tears blurred my sight.
I’ll remember the courage Datong gave to me. It was
she who told me that I would be successful as long
as I insisted working hard. I don’t see “becoming a
star” as a day dream anymore; I see it as my ideal.
Before Datong, there was no one who ever called me
“star”. Datong opened the door of my dream and I
would see her as the most beautiful encounter in my
life.
