The desert covers 10% of the whole area on the Earth, while the desert in China covers 17.85% of the whole country. The sand-covered land in Wuwei covers 6.7% of the whole city. Minqin oasis lies in the middle between Badanjilin Desert and Tenggeli Desert. The damage to the oasis will also have bad influence not only on Hexi area, but also on the climate and ecology of northwest China and North China. The whole world has paid great attention to the prevention and harnessing of sand. Through this activity, we want to let more people know about desert and show correct attitude toward desert. We hope people can come up with better ways to make use of the deserts and build a harmonious society betweeen human beings and nature.
　　There are mainly four parts of our work. The first is about the scenery in the desert, and the second one is examples in the harnessing of sand. The third part is about the prevention and harnessing of sand, and the last part is the profile of our work.
　　The prevention and harnessing of sand is the hot topic in the world, as well as the focus of our work. In the part of interviews with experts in this field, we show the achievements and pratical methods in this aspect. In the part of interviews with some leaders, we can see the government has adopted a series of effective measures, which makes us more confident of the future of Minqin oasis.
　　Our web pages also introduces some examples in the prevention and harnessing of sand such as Shi Shuzhu, Wang Yinji and six old men in Babusha. All of them spare no efforts in the harnessing of sand. Although they work in different aspects, all of them stand for the spirit of our nation. Therefore, their heroic deeds are also the focus of our web pages.
　　Through the efforts of Wuwei people of one generation and another, there are more green lands in the desert. The park along the border of the desert can be called the “first park in the desert in Asia”. The Hongya Mountain is another miracle which is famous as the pearl in the desert. All of the beautiful scenery are attracting visitors at home and abroad.

　　Through this activity for more than half a year, we have learned a lot about the desert and about the significance of harnessing of the desert. We also get to know more about the current situation and history of harnessing of the sand, as well as some examples in this field. In the activity, our team members go to the schools and villages to call on people to protect the environment, to make them know the harnessing of the sand should be done by all of us, rather than only by some of the people.

　　 Our research covers a lot of people such as leaders, experts, examples in this field as well as the average people. In the beginning, we encounter much difficulty and want to give it up. Throught the encouragement of the leaders and teacher of our school and Peng Haina in Town and Talent Co.,Ltd, we gain our confidence and go on our research. All the interviewees give us their cooperation such as answering our questions patiently and giving us relevant materials. The example Shi Shuzhu guides us to the memorial tower an shows us how to hraness the sand. And the local people in Babusha also show their concern towards us which makes us deeply moved. We owe our gratitude to all of them. Without their help, our web cannot appear as it is now.
