The second interviewee is Grandpa Ding in Datang Village, Shimen Town, Tianzhu County. He is a farmer, 72 years old, name Ding Shengcai and a member of soil family. He grew up in Datang Village. Today we are going to understand the history source and current situation about soil family folk song and dance “An Zhao( by pronunciation) ”. “An Zhao” also translated as “An Zhao( another Chinese word), “An Zhao” dance is a group dance form transmitted from generation to generation by soil family people, on holidays, welcome visitors, visit relatives and friends, blessing each other, showing a joyful scene. These happy days are also when the song and dance “An Zhao” danced happily. The “An Zhao” in Soil Family in their language is “Qian Jiao Ri”, meaning “bending” or “orbiting” , because the lyric supplementary sentence has “An Zhao Suo Luo Luo”, “An Zhao---Zhao Ying Zhao Ya” and others, and then got this name. “An Zhao” is a kind of group dance with no musical accompaniment and accompanied by song’s rhythm. Light dancing steps, graceful posture. Its form is that a person stands at the front lead the dancing and singing, others follow the leader, singing the supplementary sentence and dancing to the song. The dancing steps are first stoop then advance, swing the arms to the right side at the same time when taking the first step, swing to the left on second step. When stepping out the third step jump the left foot, turn right around and raise two arms, this is the completion of a dancing action. Repeat like this, dance and sing around until enjoy us to full. Look! Grandpa Ding is singing and dancing for us. We heard from Grandpa Ding that now only he can sing the “An Zhao” in his village. Other old people can sing this all died one after another and their children all gradually away from “An Zhao” because of loving modern popular things. They certainly wouldn’t learn to sing “An Zhao”. Saying to this point, we saw the disconsolation on his face. But when he talked about the pass, he appeared very excited. In the “culture communication competition” held by the village in 2005, he represented Shimen Town to perform and got the No.1 in the County’s competition. We wish that he can live a long life and also hope that our young generation can inherit the legacy of the old generation and bring our Soil Family’s “An Zhao” to a great height of development. |
