What we can do for Linjiang ancient temple
When the teacher suggested to choose the to topic of Linjiang ancient temple, I was struck for a while before reacted, saying a temple nearby the river can be called Linjiang temple, but I have never noticed Cangxi Linjiang temple. The students agreed and all claimed neither they notice that.
We stood on the highway near the temple, and the highway was extended towards the cliff above the top of the temple. We were standing on a stone staircase of one crossroad in the highway, looking to the river banks, we saw lush trees, sharp cliff directly sticking onto the riverbank, but with the temple nowhere to find. Walking down the stone staircases with twists and turns, then we found the wall of the cliff was wet. Someone must has chiseled out a groove and in whose end chiseled another two round holes, from where water united and rolled down together. That was the scene we saw two hollows of clear streams rolling down along the cliff. The teacher told us we should have our hands washed there, for only the wholly clean people could go into the quiet temple to worship the Buddhas. The water was warm and cool. Even this summer was extremely dry, there was water here. At the end of the stone staircases, we saw Linjiang temple on the left, the stone staircases through which were clean, the trees and walls surrounded which were green and red, the mountain gate was looming. It was the afternoon time, we could imagine that the summer heat casting down on the opposite river bank, what a good place of happiness and blessing. Entering the temple, on the left was the farewell pavilion. After visiting the pavilion, we turned to the right and walked upward along the stone staircases, followed by entering the spacious temple, in which lush trees were planted, the wall was red and the roof was green, several rooms for meditation but no other people were found. It was beautiful and tranquil here, especially in summer, it would be a summer resort. I did hope with our efforts many more people knew there was a beautiful Linjiang ancient temple in Cangxi.
Besides, because of lacking enough protection, some ancient buildings were faced with being destroyed. The beautiful and classic Linjiang ancient temple seemed to be forgotten by people. Some yards were used for piling up junks on by the local farmers. Only several women were saluting in the chiseled Buddha caves.
After the former several times of visit on the temple and cultural relic administration office, we learned that the temple was on the process of being applied for protection. We also gave out leaflets to the surrounding farmers, introducing them the value of the cultural relics. The construction of building the highway to Linjiang ancient temple is about to start, we pay our best wishes to its becoming more and more beautiful.
