Under the foot of Maomao Mountain in the east of Qilian Mountain is the beautiful and seret land – Xiama Forest.
With the semi-dry climate, it has low temperature and short sunshine time and changeable weather. The annual average temperature is －0.3℃, with the average temperature of －12.3℃ in January and 11.2℃ in July. The annual rainfall is about 450mm, most of which is in Spring and Autumn. There are various kinds of wild animals and plants.
