  Besides earth and porcelain wares, there is another black pottery copying Longshan black pottery. In 1991, the technology was introduced from Xi’an to Honggu District. A factory of works of black pottery was established and then moved to Tuanjie Street in 1998. Since the trials in 1992, the main material is the fine red clay in Yongdengqi Mountain. The procedures to make pots are rather complicated such as soaking, pressing, making, carving and baking. There are also various kinds of pictures on the works such as flowers and animals. As the only talent in command of this technology, Shang Tianming has made breakthroughs in the formation, painting and carvings. With the support of Zhao Quanyou who is the party secretary in the second community of Yaojie Town, Shang Tianming spends more than 100 thousand yuan to build a workshop and achieves success. The stylistic works of him include vases, lamps and ashtrays with various kinds of pictures. The high technique and vivid pictures of the works bring people esthetic values. On two exhibitions in Lanzhou in 1993 and 1995, his works have won the gold award twice. The products are sold to Thailand, Singapore, Japan and South Korea. His works are highly valued at home and abroad and he has become a celebrity in the community.
