The Huangyuan light has a long history.In Qianglong years,admiring at the prosperity of Dan Geer,the  merchants from Shangxi and Shaanxi migrated to and brought the advanced culture and arts to it,promoting its economical development.It is said that in order to solicit customers at night,all the local street vendors started to make firm billboards,namely lanterns with candles burning,and hung them on the door.Later on,sundry billboards with bases and patterns emerged.The Huangyuan light is always 2 feet long and 1.5 feet wide consisting of checkered screens.It is made from fine silk-originating from Suzhou and Hangzhou at the hands of top domestic painters or mater hands who will draw something about Journey to the West、Legend of Deification、The Romance of the Three Kingdoms、Romance  of the Sui-Tang Empires and Water Margin.Every group of bank lights tells a story or an episode in comic form. The bank light can trace its origin back to Jiaqing and Daoguang years.It develops in the period of the Republic of China and its innovation started in the period of the reform and opening-up. |
