As a historical and cultural city along the Qinghai-Tibet line,Dan Geer has been under conservation restoration since July,2006,and will regain its honor-"small Peking" once called.
Dan Geer-coming from the depths of history
The establishment of Dan Geer started in Hongwu years of Ming Dynasty and ended in 1727,and 600 years have past.A number of historic buildings,with precise layout、unique structure、different styles and a good layering of street pattern,can be found here.
The residential buildings inside have the characteristics of the typical courtyard of North Central Plains,like the obvious axis、lateral symmetry、two three-row yards along the axis、concomitance of both one-floor and two-floor houses、wooden structures major and thick and solid walls-cool in summer and warm in winter.
The major avenue,about six meters wide and less than one thousand meters long,connecting Town God's Temple、Confucian temple、Dan Geer Provincial-Level Department and Association for Business Department,is an important component element and a place where the local folk culture gathers,showing the historical development and cultural characteristics of Huangyuan.
Protection and Reconstruction-To Reproduce the Former Glory
In order to establish a unique urban scene and to attract tourism investment,Huangyuan,to make a feature of culture,has launched? a series of protective restoration on the Ming and Qing street to make it an ancient cultural capital and a sightseeing place gathering folk culture、food culture、commercial culture、military culture、religious culture and distinctive art of building.
The project has launch some programs that make the Qing and Ming street and the Fengsheng street throughout Town God's Temple、Dan Geer Provincial-Level Department、Confucian temple、firm stores、Huozu ge to have the overall restroration at one with that of the Beiji Mount temples.And the bank light will be used for all the street and store lighting.The project has so far show accumulated over 40 million investment and will be completed by July this year.
