They are legends in every place, so is in this county. In the river near Linjiang ancient temple, there left a beautiful fairy tale. The local people imagined the stories happened in “A Journey to the West”, one of the four greatest classic Chinese novels, actually happened in Cangxi. In ancient China, the culture transmitted in a very limited area, thus they took Cangxi as the whole world in life.

    There are many legends here. A particular one is the story about the carp spirit repaying an obligation to Tang Priest, the leading people in the novel. The story at least got three versions, of which the most touching one in our mind is the one below:
