Guide Town , situate at the eastern Qinghai province , built
the political system in earliest with a long history and was
called little Jiangnan thanks to its beautiful natural
scenary including green mountains and clear water and was a
popular highlang melon and fruits area thanks to its
abundant fruits production in the green and luxuriant trees
. Spanning from east longitute100°58’8” to 101°47’50” and
north latitude 35°29’45” to 36°23'35” , it is 63.4 miles in
width from east to west and 90.6 miles form south to north ,
between Longyang Gorge and Lijia Gorge at the upper reach of
Yellow River . Belonging to the Heyin County , it is 114
miles from Metropolies Xining and 158miles from Qia bu qia ,
Hainan .
Serving as the highest
place in Sanhe area in Guide Town and the core tourist site
, Nanhai Temple is also the est palce to view the autumn
scenary . Enjoying a overview standing in Nanhai Temple ,
you will see the whole town is surrounded by the autumn
scenary layer by layer with crossing fields under your foot
and quadrangle counyards looking like square seals wrapped
into the golden pear trees .
It
is also blesses with abundant water and power resources
nearby with three large and medium sized Yellow river
cascade power generation plants , including La xi wa power
plant with a capacity of 3.72million KW , Ni na power plant
which was built by fourth hydropawer bureau initiated in
August , 1996 with a capacity of 160000KW and the ongoing
Yushan power plant which is the largest scale project
invested by the private enterprises with a capacity of 1750
KW . Meanwhile , 11 mines such as copper , iron , aluminum ,
zinc , alluvial gold , arsenic and quarte has been verified
. The main wild fauna and flora resources are marmots , musk
deers , pheasants , Lanma chickens , snow cocks and
chuckars and rhubarbs , large leaved gentain , notopterygium
roots , bupleurums , snow lotus , oriental wormwood ,
liquoric roots , cordyceps sinensis and wild medlars as
traditional chinese herbs with a storage of about 17000tons
and Highland treasure such as hair weeds , liuhua food and
fiddlehead .
Located at the transitional place between Loess Plateau and
Tibetan Plateau with Yellow river going through the central
and northern part of the town from west to east for 76.8
miles , the whole town has a landform of basin and hilly
featuring ravines filled with it and alternative mountains
and rivers and multitier rivers ,2200 moters in altitude ,
high in south and north and low in middle ,forming a river
valley basin surrounded by mountains . It harbours highland
continental climate featruing long sunlight and strong sun
rays , more winds in spring , short and cool summer , wet
and gloomy autumn and long and dry winter , a relatively
wide daily temperature disparity and an average yearly
precipitaion between 251-559mm.
Situated at the foot of Meici Mountain which is 2.5 miles
from the town , Nanhai Temple built into scale after the
continuous building after the main building complex had been
built at the end of Ming dynasty . Since most of the
constructions were demolished during the period of Cultural
Revolution , the existing constructions were rebuilt after
1980s. Nanhai Temple which was built against the mountain
with tidy layout , boasts the core of the tourist sites in
town with distinctive natural and humanitarian value .
