Background for project
To raise their living standard, a large amount of young people from the rural areas migrate to cities for work but they can not bring with their children. On one hand, they cannot afford the high tuition in cities' schools. On the other, the high school and college entrance examinations system keep their children from staying together with them.
In term of family, there is an imbalance between the income and children's education. More and more farmers choose to leave their hometown and work in developed cities to improve their lives, only in which ways can they offer ample economic supports on their children. However, between the two, when there emerge conflicts, they still prefer to the former. The issue of left-behind children is an inevitable and long term social problem in the development of Chinese socialist market economy. Due to many historical and realistic reasons, the left-behind children are a weak and special group in our economic and social structure. Thus they are worthy of gaining more attention, care and affection from the whole society. |
