Equipment
The equipment of phoenix boat race contains boat, helm, paddle and drum.
Phoenix boat A typical phoenix boat ranges 18.4m in length (error within ±5cm), with a beam, accommodating two paddlers seated side by side. A wooden phoenix head is attached at the bow, and a tail at the stern（船尾）. The width in the mid part is 1.1m.
Helm The helm is fixed on the left side of the stern. A helm ranges 2.5m in length, in which the blade is 75cm long and 20cm wide (error within ±3 cm). the handle is 15cm long and its diameter is 3.5cm.
Paddle A helm ranges from 105 to 130 cm in length and 18cm in width. Its sickness is between 0.4 and 1 cm, while the diameter is between 2.5 to 3.5 cm.
Drum The diameter of drum is 48cm and the height is 45cm. it’s located in front of the first paddler, facing the helmsman.
