Training The training can be divided into physical, mental, skill and strategy training.
Physical training Physical training is an important part in modern sports training program. In order to have good results, all the athletes must raise their physical ability. As for phoenix boat race, the main physical training program contains power, speed, resistance and versatility to cope with vagaries.
Mental training Mental training is the guarantee of getting rid of bad mental factors and relieving one’s mood. As phoenix boat race is a team work, the requirement of each member’s mental ability is very high. In order to ensure the good result, the training method can be divided into concentration, implication, idea and relaxation training.
Skill training The step of skill training is firstly, introduce the whole series of skills, and then separate into entering water, pulling water, leaving water and paddling in the air. The coach makes an example and analyzes into four steps. The athletes are asked to copy it on the land. The drummer controls the rhythm. In low rhythm, the athletes are required to paddle more than 60 times in a minute. In mid rhythm, the athletes are required to paddle for 90-100 times. In fast rhythm, the athletes are required to paddle for more than 120 times. The long time and high strength training aims at cultivating athletes’ power, resistance, hard-working and cooperation.
Strategy training The strategy training needs to be long-time, systematic and scientific. The method of strategy training contains easy to complex strategy, training in difficult conditions, model competition training, actual counterwork and analysis of competition.
